Measures that the server is running and ticking, not that players can reach it.
Asks the game port over UDP and counts any answer from the server, a version refusal included. It is asked from the machine the server runs on, so that machine's own firewall and the route from the internet are not on its path: a port closed to players can still show green here.
Service record
Every download of the client from playvoidborn.com was cut thirty seconds in. Fixed on 2026-09-20.
From the moment the download link went up on 2026-09-19, every download of the Windows build was cut thirty seconds in, at whatever byte the downloader’s own line had reached, so it looked like a network error on their side. It was ours: the site’s thirty-second write timeout, right for a page, was also guarding a 1.5 GB file.
Files under /media/ now run on an idle deadline that moves with every write instead,
so a slow download finishes and a stalled one is still closed. The site’s probe stayed
green throughout, because its pages were fine; only the file was cut.
The game server came up on this box on 2026-09-19 and this page did not probe it until 2026-09-20.
The game server started running on the production box on 2026-09-19, and this page kept listing it as “Not measured”: the production list of checks still had its row as a hand-kept entry, written for a server that had not moved in yet. Since 2026-09-20 the row probes the server’s own health listener.
What the row says, and does not: green means the server process is running and ticking. It does not mean a player can reach it. The game speaks UDP, which this page does not probe.
This page started measuring. The game server answers on its own health listener.
The status page probes the sites, the database and the game server once a minute and keeps ninety days of results. The game server answers on a listener of its own that never touches the world’s lock, so its row is a probe like the others.
